Two ways to personalise

1. A single bottle, with a name

Use the Customize page to build an HYV Studio 1L: choose the body colour, the lid and the boot, then add a name laser-etched into the steel on the reverse face of the bottle for ₹150. The bottle itself is ₹1,899, so a personalised one-off comes to ₹2,049 with no minimum order.

This is the right route for a birthday, an anniversary, a teacher's gift or a bottle you simply want to be unmistakably yours. The name is cut into the steel on the face opposite the HYV mark, so it will not peel or wash off. You can also add a name with "Add a name" on most HYV bottle and tumbler pages.

2. Twenty-five or more, with a logo or names

Bulk orders are laser engraved directly into the 18/8 stainless steel. That mark is permanent — it cannot peel, fade or wash off, because it removes a layer of the finish rather than sitting on top of it.

• Minimum order: 10 units
• Turnaround: 7–10 business days to produce, plus 2–3 days for delivery

Engraving or printing — which you actually want

• Laser engraving. Permanent, single-tone, survives dishwashers and years of daily use. The only sensible choice for something meant to last. The trade-off is that you get the natural colour of the etched steel, not a colour of your choosing.
• UV printing. Full colour, and the right answer for a logo with gradients or several colours. It sits on the surface, so it wears at the base and wherever the bottle rubs inside a bag.
• Vinyl and stickers. Cheapest and shortest-lived. Fine for a one-off event, wrong for a gift.

What you can put on a bottle

• A name — the most common request, and the one that ages best. Keep it small and low on the body; a large name turns a bottle into a label.
• A company logo — one mark, discreetly placed. Heavy branding turns a gift into merchandise, and merchandise stays at the desk it was handed out at.
• A date or short message — anniversaries, milestones, team launches.
• Both — logo on one face, name on the other, which is what keeps a corporate gift feeling like a gift.

Photographs, and full-colour artwork

A photograph on a bottle is a printing job, not an engraving one — and it is something we do. UV printing reproduces full colour, gradients and photographic detail directly onto the body, so a face, a pet, a team photo or a multi-colour logo all come out as they look on screen rather than as a single tone of etched steel.

The trade is durability. A printed image sits on the surface, so it wears where the bottle rubs inside a bag and with repeated dishwashing, while an engraved name is cut into the steel and will not peel or wash off. Neither is better — they answer different briefs:

• Want a photo, a logo in brand colours, or anything with a gradient? UV print it.
• Want a name or a date that is still there in five years? Engrave it.
• Want both? A printed image on one face and an engraved name on the other is a common combination, and it is the one we would suggest for a keepsake.

Send the highest-resolution file you have. A photo pulled from a chat thread has already been compressed twice and will print soft — the original from the camera roll is what you want.

Who it is for

For kids and school. The sizes that work in a school bag are the 470 ml OpenFlow and the 600 ml tumblers — light enough to carry full, and steel rather than plastic, so they do not hold the smell of yesterday's juice. A name on the bottle is the practical point as much as the sentimental one: it is how it comes home from school. Worth saying plainly — we do not make a toddler sipper or a spouted baby bottle. If that is what you need, buy elsewhere; nothing in this range is designed for it.

For teachers, and thank-you gifts. A name and a short date engraved on a 750 ml bottle is the version of this gift that gets used rather than shelved. Keep the message short — the engraving area is smaller than people expect.

For men and women. The honest answer is that this is a colour and size decision rather than a category. The 750 ml models suit most people and most bags; the 1 litre models suit a gym or a desk you do not leave. Eleven stock colours across the range.

For weddings and return gifts. This is the one where quantity changes the method. Above 25 units every bottle can carry a different name at no extra cost per unit, so a guest list becomes a name list — and at that volume laser engraving is the sensible choice, because a return gift that peels within a year is worse than no gift. Before you order

• Check the spelling twice, from a written list. Personalised items cannot be returned or reallocated, and names collected over chat are where errors enter.
• Ask for a branded sample on a bulk order. Engraving contrast varies by finish — a matte powder coat takes a mark differently from bare steel.
• Order a small buffer of unengraved stock for a corporate run. Someone always joins or leaves between the order and the delivery.
• Allow production time. Engraving is a production step, not packaging. Engraved orders from stock: 7–10 business days to dispatch, plus 2–3 days delivery. Made-to-order colours: 60–90 days. Order well ahead of a festival, since courier networks congest badly before Diwali.

Why personalise an insulated bottle rather than a cheap one

A personalised item is kept for as long as it is worth keeping. Putting a name on a bottle that develops a smell in four months produces a gift someone feels guilty throwing away — which is worse than no gift.

Everything here is vacuum insulated 18/8 stainless steel, with replacement lids sold separately so a lost lid does not retire the bottle. That is the difference between personalising a gift and personalising a consumable.
