Frequently Asked Questions
Every HYV bottle and tumbler is double-wall vacuum insulated — that is the construction that holds temperature, because a vacuum has no air for heat to travel through. Cold retention runs up to 24 hours and hot up to 12, depending on the model, how full the bottle is, ambient temperature and how often the lid is opened.
HYV makes BIS-certified bottles, certified to IS 17526:2021, India’s national standard for stainless steel vacuum insulated containers.
Bottles run 750ml (CoreFlow, FlipFlow, SlimPro, DualFlow, SnapSip) and 1 litre (LuxeSip, LuxeFlow, DualFlow 1L, MagFlex), plus a 2 litre MaxFlow. Tumblers run 470ml (OpenFlow), 600ml (ChillSip, DailySip) and 1.2 litre (HydroFlow, HydroPro, HydroMax, HydroPop).
Food-grade 304 (18/8) stainless steel, double-wall vacuum insulated. There is no plastic liner and no BPA question — steel is inert, so it does not leach and does not carry taste between uses. Lids use a removable silicone gasket so the seal can be cleaned properly.
Yes. The tumbler range (ChillSip, DailySip, HydroFlow, HydroPro, HydroMax, HydroPop) is designed for hot as well as cold, with sealed sliding lids that hold heat and clip closed for a bag. The 600ml ChillSip is the sealed coffee-mug format specifically.

Insulated Tumblers
A tumbler is a bottle that has given up portability in exchange for making drinking effortless. Wide body, bigger opening, and usually a straw — which matters more than it sounds, because at a desk the effort per sip is what decides how much you actually drink across a day.

Available in 470 ml, 600 ml and 1.2 L.
Which size suits you
- 470–600 ml — a coffee tumbler. One hot drink, kept hot. Larger tumblers keep coffee warm long past the point it is pleasant to drink, so bigger is genuinely worse here.
- 1.2 L — the desk workhorse, and the size that changes hydration habits because it removes the refill trip. Over a kilogram full, which is fine stationary and tiring otherwise.
What to check before buying
- The condensation test. Ice water, ten minutes. A genuine vacuum tumbler stays bone dry outside; beading means heat is crossing the wall.
- The lid. Every surface touching liquid should be reachable with a brush. Tumbler lids have more parts than bottle lids, so this matters more here.
- Where it will live. Cup-holder diameter and desk footprint decide whether a tumbler gets used at all.
- Spare parts. Whether a replacement lid can be bought is the cheapest test of how long a brand expects the product to last.
More about this range
Will a tumbler fit my car cup holder?
An HYV tumbler will — every one, the 1.2 L HydroMax, HydroPro, HydroPop and HydroFlow included, fits a standard Indian car cup holder. With other brands, measure the holder first; standard holders run roughly 70–75 mm.
Straw lid or sip lid?
Straw if the tumbler mostly stays on a desk: you will drink noticeably more because each sip costs no effort. Sip if it travels between rooms or in a bag, where an open straw is a spill risk.
How do I clean the straw?
With a dedicated straw brush, separately from the tumbler. A straw that is only rinsed develops a film you can taste within a couple of weeks. If a straw cannot be removed for cleaning, treat that as a design flaw.
How long does an insulated tumbler keep drinks cold?
The 1.2 L tumblers are rated up to 12 hours cold and 8 hours hot; the 600 ml ChillSip and DailySip up to 8 hours cold and 6 hours hot; the open OpenFlow up to 6 hours cold and 3 hours hot. Those figures assume a full, pre-chilled vessel that stays closed — opened repeatedly and filled two-thirds, expect it to hold through a working day.
How do I know it is genuinely vacuum insulated?
Fill it with ice water, close it and wait ten minutes. A real vacuum vessel stays completely dry and room-temperature on the outside. Condensation means heat is crossing the wall.
Is shipping free?
Shipping is free on orders over ₹499 across India.
What is an insulated tumbler?
A wide-bodied drinking vessel with two steel walls and the air drawn out of the gap between them, usually taking a straw or sip lid rather than a screw cap. The vacuum is what holds the temperature; the wide body and the lid are what make it easy to drink from without thinking about it. It trades the sealed, bag-safe design of a bottle for far less effort per sip.
Which insulated tumbler is best in India?
It depends entirely on where it will sit. For a desk, a 1.2 L straw tumbler wins, because the refill trip disappears and each sip costs nothing — that is the HydroPop, HydroPro and HydroMax. For coffee, a 600 ml ChillSip or DailySip, because a larger vessel keeps coffee warm long past the point it is pleasant to drink. Anyone naming one tumbler as best for everyone has not asked where you intend to keep it.
Which tumblers have a carry handle?
All three 1.2 L straw tumblers — HydroPop, HydroPro and HydroMax — have one. At that size it matters more than it sounds: full, a 1.2 L tumbler weighs over a kilogram, and a wide body is awkward to hold without a grip. The HydroFlow is the same capacity with a turn-and-sip lid instead of a straw.
