A branded order on an existing body is a short project, and the production line is almost never what makes it late. The stages are artwork approval, setup and first-off approval, production, packing, and transit — and the two that slip are the ones the buyer controls: supplying print-ready artwork, and approving the first-off sample quickly. HYV runs 7 to 14 days from a confirmed brief, roughly 7 to 10 business days to produce plus 2 to 3 to deliver. A dedicated colourway is longer, because the coating line has to be set up and a first-off approved before the run starts.
Key Facts
- Production is rarely the bottleneck on an existing body. Artwork and approvals are.
- A confirmed brief means artwork settled — not an enquiry sent.
- HYV: 7 to 14 days total, about 7 to 10 business days to produce plus 2 to 3 to deliver.
- A dedicated colourway adds a coating setup and a first-off approval cycle.
- A new tooled shape is a different scale entirely — months, not days.
Buying rather than reading? SlimPro, ₹999. Full reasoning below.
The five stages, and who owns each
- Artwork approval — you. Vector file, final size in millimetres, placement from a datum, exact colours if printing. This is where most schedules go wrong, and it is entirely within the buyer's control.
- Setup and first-off — shared. The factory programmes the etch or print station and produces one piece. You approve it. If you take three days to look at it, the schedule takes three days longer.
- Production — the factory. On an existing body this is the predictable part.
- Packing — the factory. Printed packaging has its own minimum and its own lead time, and it is a common surprise: the bottles are ready and the boxes are not.
- Transit — logistics. Two to three days domestically.
Counting from "we sent an enquiry" rather than from a confirmed brief is how a 10-day order becomes a 25-day disappointment with nobody at fault.
What makes a brief confirmed
Five things settled, in writing:
- Body, capacity and lid — the exact SKU.
- Quantity per SKU, not across the order.
- Branding method, artwork as vector, size in millimetres, placement.
- Colour, and whether it is a stock colour or a dedicated run.
- Packaging — stock, or printed to your design with its own minimum.
Any one of those left open means the clock has not started. HYV's 7-to-14-day window counts from that point, and the single biggest accelerant available to a buyer is sending print-ready artwork with the first email rather than the fourth.
What legitimately takes longer
A dedicated colourway. The coating line has to be purged and set up and a first-off approved. This is a genuine addition, not padding, and it is why a custom colour carries a 1,000-unit minimum at HYV while branding an existing colour starts at 25.
Printed packaging. Its own supplier, its own minimum, its own approval. Decide early or ship in stock packaging for the first order.
A new tooled shape. Months. Different category of project, and worth saying out loud because a buyer who has only ever ordered branded stock can be surprised by the scale of it.
Festive season. Corporate gifting demand concentrates sharply before Diwali, and capacity across the whole industry tightens. An order placed in late September for Diwali is competing with everyone else's.
One stage deserves its own page, because it runs on its own clock: the packaging stage that holds orders up.
Disclosure
HYV quotes the 7-to-14-day window described here, so take it as a supplier's own stated terms rather than an audited figure. The part that is genuinely useful regardless of supplier is the distinction between an enquiry and a confirmed brief — ask any factory what starts their clock, and ask it before you plan backwards from a date. Where HYV is not the answer: anything needing new tooling, which is a months-long project it does not take on. HYV makes insulated steel bottles from ₹899.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a branded bottle order take?
On an existing body, roughly 7 to 14 days from a confirmed brief — about 7 to 10 business days to produce plus 2 to 3 for delivery. A dedicated colourway or printed packaging adds to that.
What usually makes an order late?
Artwork that is not print-ready, and slow approval of the first-off sample. Both are the buyer's side. The production line on an existing body is the predictable part.
When does the clock start?
At a confirmed brief: SKU, quantity per SKU, branding method with vector artwork and size, colour, and packaging all settled in writing. Not when the enquiry is sent.
Why does a custom colour take longer?
The coating line has to be purged and set up and a first-off approved before the run. That is also why it carries a higher minimum — 1,000 units at HYV against 25 for an existing colour.
Should I order earlier for Diwali?
Yes. Corporate gifting demand concentrates sharply before Diwali and industry-wide capacity tightens, so a late-September order is competing with everyone else's.
