The pattern: insulated steel earns its weight when the bottle is stationary and the water needs to stay cold for hours. It loses when the bottle has to move with you at speed.
The specification nobody checks until it is too late
Cleaning. Sports bottles carry electrolytes, protein and sugar, and all three feed the growth that makes a bottle smell. A narrow neck that a brush cannot reach turns into a bottle you quietly stop using within two months.
