How Powder Coating Works
The powder coating process involves three steps. The metal bottle exterior is cleaned and pre-treated. Dry polymer powder (usually polyester or epoxy-polyester blend) is sprayed onto the exterior using an electrostatic gun — the charge makes the powder adhere evenly. The coated bottle is then baked in an oven at around 180–200°C, which melts and cures the powder into a hard, continuous coating. The result is a uniform matte finish significantly more durable than liquid paint.

Yes — powder coating is applied to the exterior and is fully cured before use. It does not contact the liquid inside. 💡 Powder Coat vs Interior Coating — the Critical Distinction
Some cheaper bottles apply interior coatings (paint or epoxy) to the inside of the steel. This is fundamentally different from exterior powder coating — an interior coating contacts your drink and can degrade with hot liquids. All HYV bottles have uncoated steel interiors. If a bottle has any colour or coating visible on the interior surface, treat this as a safety concern unless independently verified.
