How Much Do Custom Water Bottles Cost in India?

The three numbers in any quote

Nearly every confused gifting budget adds two of these three and forgets the other.

The bottle. On insulated steel this is the great majority of the cost, and it is set by capacity, lid mechanism and wall construction rather than by anything to do with branding. A printed plastic bottle at ₹80 and an engraved steel one at ₹700 are not the same purchase with a different logo on it.

The branding. Laser etching burns into the steel; UV printing lays colour on top of it. HYV offers both. At one-off quantities etching is an add-on priced per unit; at trade quantities it is already inside the rate, which is why 25 units is cheaper per bottle in two ways at once.

The tax. Insulated steel drinkware is HSN 9617 and carries GST at 18%. Whether a number you are given sits above or below that 18% is the most common reason two suppliers look like they disagree by a fifth — ask, before you compare quotes or set a per-head budget. Buying one or two: the listed-price route

For one gift there is no volume at all, and the maths is short.

Listed prices on livehyv.com, plus ₹150 a unit for laser name etching. This is the one-or-two-units route; it is not what a 200-unit order costs.

None of this is a bulk price. It is the number for one engraved bottle, roughly 45% higher per unit than the same bottle landed at the 25-unit minimum.

Buying 25 or more: the trade route

This is the table a procurement or HR buyer needs, because this is where custom bottles are actually bought.

Per unit, ex-GST, laser engraving included, minimum 25 units per model. Add 18% to reach a landed cost. These are the tiers on the current rate card — confirm the live card with gifting@livehyv.com before you build a budget on them.

Two things change at 25 units: engraving sits inside the rate, and the rate drops to roughly two-thirds of the listed price. The entry 750 ml is ₹609 a unit ex-GST, about ₹719 landed — against ₹1,049 for one engraved unit. At 500 units it is ₹489 ex-GST, about ₹577 landed. At the other end, the 1-litre magnetic-lid bottle is ₹1,285 ex-GST at 25 units, about ₹1,516 landed. Engraved steel therefore plans at roughly ₹577 to ₹1,516 a head.

The two quantities that change the price: 25 and 1,000

Everything else in a quote is negotiable. These two numbers are production facts.

25 units per model is the minimum order, and it is per model rather than per order — a 50-unit order split across two bottles is two 25s, not one 50, so it prices at the 25-tier on both. If you are close to a tier boundary, consolidating onto one model is usually worth more than haggling.

1,000 units is where a brand-matched custom colourway starts. The figure 100 circulates widely and it is wrong: colour is not a finishing step, it is a production run of bodies with its own setup and minimum. Below 1,000, pick the nearest standard colourway and put the brand into the engraving, which costs nothing extra at trade volumes.

Production runs 7–10 business days from artwork sign-off, and sign-off is the part that slips: artwork sent Friday and approved the next Thursday has spent half the fortnight before anything is made.

What moves a quote up or down

The levers are not where most buyers push.

Up: several colourways in one order, bespoke packaging, delivery split to many home addresses, artwork changed after sign-off, and ordering inside the Diwali fortnight when the production slot itself costs more.

Down: one model, one colourway, one delivery point, and a decision early enough that nothing is expedited.

What almost never moves it is asking for a discount on a quote that already reflects your tier. The tier is the discount.
