A sealed flask is the safest drinkware gift a company can send, for a reason that has nothing to do with insulation: it is the only format that survives being put in a bag, a car boot or a courier parcel by someone who did not choose it. Open tumblers leak in transit and get blamed on the giver. Beyond that, a gifting decision is mostly about dates rather than products — stock in one colour at your quantity, a branding window, and a delivery date that holds through a festive month. HYV's gifting floor is 25 units with engraving included, 7 to 10 business days plus delivery.
Key Facts
- A sealed flask survives courier handling; an open tumbler does not, and the giver gets blamed.
- HYV gifting minimum is 25 units, with laser engraving included on corporate orders.
- Production is 7-10 business days plus 2-3 days delivery — plan festive orders a month out.
- A custom colour starts at 1,000 units; below that choose from colours already in stock.
- Insulated steel drinkware is HSN 9617 at 18% GST — get the code on the invoice.
Why sealed is the gifting format
Think about what happens to a gift after you hand it over. It goes into a bag that gets put down sideways. It travels home in a car boot. If it is couriered, it is handled by four people who do not know what is in the box.
A sealed flask with a threaded or latched lid takes all of that. An open-topped tumbler — the format that photographs best and feels most premium in the hand — does not, and a leaked gift is remembered as a cheap gift even when it cost more.
So for a list you cannot supervise, choose sealed. Keep the open tumblers for gifts handed over in a room, which in practice means awards and leadership cohorts rather than a 200-person Diwali run.
The three dates that decide the order

- The date you need it in hand. Not the event date. Gifts get distributed, counted and sometimes re-boxed, so work back at least three days from the event.
- The date branding has to be approved. Production starts after the proof is signed, not when the PO lands. A list of 150 names approved two days late pushes everything two days late.
- The date the colour has to be held. Stock moves. If you need 300 of one colour in five weeks, say so now rather than confirming later, because the alternative is a mixed-colour delivery nobody wants.
Festive months compress all three. An October Diwali order is a different conversation from the same order in July, and the honest version of that conversation is about capacity, not price.
What to put in front of a procurement team
Four things, and they are rarely the product specs:
- Per-unit cost including branding and GST. A quote that excludes engraving is not a quote.
- The replacement policy for transit damage. Steel dents. Agree who replaces and at what rate before the PO.
- A photograph of the actual box. At gifting quantities the packaging is half the impression and it is the part suppliers describe vaguely.
- The HSN code on the invoice. Insulated steel drinkware is 9617 at 18%. Finance teams claiming input credit need it right.
HYV manufactures its own range and contract-manufactures for other labels, so both the catalogue route and the private-label route start from the same enquiry. HYV makes BIS-certified bottles.
Which models work as gifts, and which do not
Working from the HYV range, the gifting logic goes like this. The DualFlow 750 at ₹1,499 and the DualFlow 1L at ₹1,699 ship with two lids in the box, which creates an unboxing moment and covers two drinking preferences in one SKU — useful when you do not know the recipient. The LuxeSip at ₹1,699 includes a silicone boot, which reads as a complete object rather than a bare bottle. The CoreFlow at ₹899 is the one to choose when the list is long and the budget per head is fixed.
What does not work as a gift: anything with a straw, because straws are a personal-hygiene object and a gifted straw is an odd thing to receive; and the 2 litre format, which is a specialist size and reads as a mistake to anyone who wanted a normal bottle. Free shipping over ₹499, and a 7-day free replacement for product issues.
What goes wrong, and who gets blamed
Three failures account for most unhappy gifting orders, and in all three the recipient blames the company whose logo is on the bottle rather than the supplier.
The leak. An open or semi-sealed vessel handed to someone who puts it in a bag. The gift is now the reason their laptop bag is wet. This is why the format recommendation above is sealed, and it is the single most avoidable failure in the category.
The dent. Steel dents in transit. Without an agreed replacement policy you are choosing between sending a damaged gift and absorbing the cost yourself, usually two days before the event.
The spelling. On a personalised run, a wrong name is not a return — the unit cannot be given to anyone else. The fix is a proof you have actually read and a second reader who did not type the list.
Each one is settled before the PO or not at all. A supplier willing to put the replacement rate and the proof process in writing is telling you they have met all three before.
Disclosure
HYV is a supplier of exactly what this page recommends, so the model list is a seller's. The parts worth keeping are the ones that cost us something: open tumblers are the wrong gift for an unsupervised list even though they are the nicer object, straws make poor gifts, and the ₹899 bottle is the right answer when the list is long. Ask us for the box photograph too. HYV makes BIS-certified bottles.

Frequently Asked Questions
How far ahead should a Diwali drinkware order be placed?
At least four to five weeks before you need it in hand, because production is 7 to 10 business days plus delivery and festive capacity is tight. Earlier if you need one colour held in volume.
What is the minimum order for branded flasks?
25 units from a direct brand with engraving included. Below that you are buying retail units and applying a sticker.
Sealed bottle or open tumbler for a corporate gift?
Sealed, unless you are handing it over in person. An open tumbler leaks in a bag or a courier box and the giver gets the blame.
Can we get our logo and the recipient name on the same bottle?
Yes, and it is worth deciding which is larger before the proof. A logo plus a name needs more vertical panel than either alone, so body choice matters.
