What changes between 25 and 5,000 units
At 25 to 100 units you are buying from stock with branding applied. Colour choice is whatever exists; lead time is short.
At 100 to 1,000 you can usually hold a colour, and the branding method becomes a real choice rather than a default.
At 1,000 and above a custom colour becomes possible, which is the first point where the product stops looking like something anyone can buy. This is also where packaging becomes worth specifying, because a gift is unwrapped before it is used.
Nothing above requires a tooling conversation. Tooling — your own lid or body shape — is a different order of commitment and should be discussed separately from a gifting run.
Packaging, and the gift that arrives dented
